December 2008 / Bott Radio Network Welcomes Mat Staver to St. Louis, Thursday, December 11th

Bott Radio Network welcomed Mat Staver to St. Louis, Thursday, December 11th as Concerned Women for America of Missouri and Christian Civic Foundation co-sponsored a luncheon for pastors and community leaders. Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, was the featured speaker. Mat is also a trustee for the Supreme Court Historical Society. Mat presented “The Movement to Silence the Church and What You Can and Must Do About It”. Pastors, community leaders, public policy activists and St. Louis area opinion shapers were encouraged to aggressively “occupy until the Lord comes” and to “be a beacon of hope and clarity as a watchman on the wall”. Bott Radio Network was represented at the luncheon, held at the Pillar Foundation, located in St. Louis, by Dale Smith, St. Louis Office Manager, Harold Hendrick, “Encounter” program host and St. Louis Director of Public Affairs, and Pastor David Vaughan, of “Voice of Liberty” heard on Bott Radio Network in St. Louis. Mat is also a recognized leader of the movement to revive America’s moral culture. Liberty Counsel’s attorneys have pressed a case in court that under the “equal access” constitutional concept, 3,500 Child Evangelism Fellowship’s “Good News Clubs” are legally protected to sponsor after school meetings. At present, Mat is involved in a case regarding a school district that has forbidden making available New Testaments for those who requested them. Under Mat’s leadership, Liberty University School of Law continues to produce graduates that achieve phenomenal success passing the bar exam which places Liberty in the top tier of all law schools in the country with respect to bar passage rates. There is no doubt that America is going through one of the most intense periods of social upheaval in our Nation’s history. There have been a couple of Great Awakenings that were led by early pastors that fueled the American Revolution, and St. Louis leaders were challenged to “be His light today”. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Proverbs 9:10
